Repairs, rebuilds, and ongoing support for A&A melters plus Garlock, Cleasby and ASE equipment.
Built to keep your equipment running reliably in the field.
We handle everything required to keep your equipment operating at its best. Whether it’s a minor issue or a full rebuild, our team has the experience to diagnose, repair, and restore your equipment efficiently. Our services include repairs, maintenance, replacement of worn components, and full system rebuilds when needed.
For larger repairs, A&A Melters provides full-service support from start to finish.
You do not have to own an A&A unit to get it fixed here. Alongside our own equipment we service Garlock, Cleasby and ASE machines. Send us the make, the model and the problem, and we will tell you what it needs.
Our goal is simple. Keep your equipment running reliably so you can stay focused on the job.
A melter that gets serviced on schedule stays on the job. A&A recommends servicing on engine hours rather than calendar days, because a unit running six days a week and a unit running six days a month do not wear at the same rate. This schedule applies across the A&A range.
| Interval | What to service |
|---|---|
| Daily | Motor and crankcase oil level, trailer lights, torch alignment, breakaway battery charge |
| 50 hours | All nuts, bolts, belts and pulley alignments. Grease all nipples |
| 100 hours | Clean air filter, change motor oils, check propane fittings for leaks |
| 300 hours | Clean sediment bowl in motor |
| 500 hours | All drive arm bolts, bushings, wheel nuts, gear box oil level, tire pressure |
| 1000 hours or once per season | Drain all material, remove agitator, clean tub with a spud bar or small impact air chisel, inspect tub, reinstall agitator and check clearances between tub and agitator, check pillow block bearings, brakes, wheel bearings, material valve, kettle mounting bolts, safety chains, coupler |
Draining the kettle right out belongs to the seasonal service, not to the end of a work day. During the season we recommend leaving the unit about two thirds full, so there is material in the tub and the crew can heat and go the next morning instead of starting cold and empty. Never run the machine empty. Once the material starts melting, the agitator can go to work. The rubber needs to be mixed while it melts, so there is no need to wait for the kettle to come up to temperature.
Before you start. Always follow the manual supplied with your unit. Let the melter cool before draining, chiselling or reaching into the tub, and shut off the propane supply before working on any fuel component.
Not sure where your unit sits on this schedule? Send us the model and we will tell you what it needs.

On engine hours. There are daily checks, then service intervals at 50, 100, 300, 500 and 1000 hours. The 1000 hour service, which most crews run once per season, is when the kettle is drained and the tub is cleaned and inspected. The schedule applies across the A&A range.
No. Leave the unit about two thirds full so it is ready to run the next morning. Draining the kettle right out is part of the 1000 hour or seasonal service, not an end of shift job.
